Services & Amenities
The Palliative Approach
At Glenview we are aware that death can be a difficult subject to approach, however, we encourage you to discuss your end of life wishes with your family and your doctor before or shortly after your move into your new home at Glenview. Documenting your wishes in an Advance Care Directive is highly recommended.
We are committed to providing you with care that enables quality of life, respects your choices and maintains your dignity. The only way we can do this is to know what is important to you so that your wishes are carried out. We encourage you and your family to have regular discussions with us as your needs change. We will schedule regular each year to discuss this. There may be a need for additional meetings should your health deteriorate, or at your request. This helps us to ensure we are all on the same page in knowing what is important to you and your family at this time.
If you have been diagnosed with an illness you will not recover from (however your death may be some considerable time in the future) we focus on dignity and quality of life, supporting both you and your family through the process.
There are a range of services that we offer to all residents as they approach the final stages of life. These include:
- Trained and skilled staff in managing end of life care, to make sure you are kept comfortable.
- Access to palliative and other specialist advice as needed, for example on pain management or wound care.
- Equipment (such as pressure mattresses, syringe drivers etc), avoiding the need for you to transfer to hospital.
- Support and written resources about what to expect at end of life.
- Access to pastoral/spiritual care as requested.
- Provision of services such as aromatherapy, massage or music, particularly in the final stages of life.
Free Services & Care
- A wide range of ever changing activities including shopping trips, bingo, shuffle board, exercise classes, and concerts
- Music therapy
- Cooking club
- Gardening club
- Footcare clinic
- Special functions including Summer Ball and Winter Lantern festivals
Our Rooms
We have various accommodation styles to offer for residents
In July 2014, the Federal Government changed the way that Aged Care providers charge for accommodation. Essentially there are three categories and the pricing for each category is outlined below. To determine which category a person falls into, they should submit an assets and income assessment to Department of Human Services (DHS). The Government will then advise the person of their assessment and which category that person falls into.
The amount you can be asked to pay for your accommodation will be based on your income and assets, and will be one of the following:
- No accommodation costs: if your income and assets are below a certain amount, the Australian Government will pay your accommodation costs.
- As a guide, the current threshold for this category is $46,000 in assessable assets and $25,265 in assessable income.
- An accommodation contribution: if your assets and income are under a higher threshold you will be asked to contribute to the costs of your accommodation, and the Australian Government will pay the rest.
As a guide, the current threshold for this category is $157,000 in assessable assets and $25,265 in assessable income OR $46,000 in assessable assets and $64,132 in assessable income.
- An accommodation payment: if your assets and income are above the thresholds listed in point 2 above, you will be asked to pay for the full cost of your accommodation. If you are in this category you can view Glenview’s accommodation charges here (please note these prices do not apply to anyone who fits into categories 1 or 2 above).
Accommodation features and price options
Glenview encourages you to come and talk to us about accommodation pricing and the options that are available for you. We want to make sure that everyone has access to quality aged care and will work with you to ensure that you have the option of coming to live with us.

Our Rooms
All our rooms are private single rooms, however some rooms have shared bathrooms which link between two rooms. All of our rooms have carpet.
Our rooms are airy, light and warm and the furniture can be arranged how you would like it. No items in the rooms are fixed so you can individualise your room.
When a room becomes available, the family of a potential resident will be contacted and invited in for a viewing. A short period of time is available to consider the offer.
Room Décor Options
New residents and their families are encouraged to personalise their new room with our selection of bedspreads, curtains, linen and even the colour of a feature wall. We want our rooms to feel as homely as possible and residents are welcome to bring in selected items of their own furniture and home décor (ours can be removed) if they wish.
Moving in Day
New residents and families arrive at 10am (or as arranged) and are met by our family liaison officer. Morning tea will be offered and they will explain some basic procedures and help settle the resident before sharing lunch with the new resident and their family.
